OPUS Aerospace is a French New Space company founded in 2020, specializing in the design, manufacture, and launch of suborbital rockets for civil and defense applications.
The company aims to address Europe’s lack of access to the strategic altitude range between 30 and 150 km, which is currently largely dominated by non-European players.
Its flagship product, Mesange, is a modular sounding rocket designed for scientific missions, technology testing, and military applications.
OPUS is developing an integrated model combining engineering, launch vehicle production, and launch services.
The company already benefits from partnerships with leading institutional players such as CNES and the DGA.
It also has industrial and testing facilities in France, notably in Brétigny-sur-Orge.
Positioned in dual-use markets, OPUS addresses the growing European sovereign needs in space and defense.
Its agile and competitive approach aims to offer solutions that are faster and more flexible than those of established players.
The first launch of Mesange is scheduled to take place from Kourou, in French Guiana.
MAD Advising participated in the financing of OPUS Aerospace to support the emergence of a future European champion in strategic space.
